Course Overview:

Insulate or isolate, is there a difference? The short answer is—yes!

In this training, you will explore the distinctions between insulating and isolating, examine related standards, and learn about minimum approach distance (MAD) in distribution and transmission. You will find out what MAD and other common acronyms such as MAID, MTID, MHAD, and TOV mean, and how they apply to the work you do in the field. You will also look at how to properly use and inspect cover-ups, work with hot sticks, and conduct hot-stick inspections. Finally, we’ll tackle the question “Is it safe to work alone?”
